National Slaughter Cattle Summary – Week ending Mar. 2nd



Slaughter cattle traded mostly 1.00 lower for live and steady to 1.00 lower on dressed offerings.  Boxed Beef prices as of Friday afternoon averaged 218.58 up 2.98 from last Friday.  The Choice/Select spread is 7.88.  Slaughter cattle on a national basis for negotiated cash trades through Friday afternoon totaled 96,350 head.  Last week’s total head count was 95,969.
