A network of researchers and educators from Cooperative Extension Services across the United States have came together to offer free webinars during August.
This month's free webinars are:
August 20, a tool for determining opportunities to reduce air emissions from livestock farms and dry matter on organic dairy farms.
At 2:00 - 3:15 p.m ET, producers can learn how to calculate pasture dry matter on your organic dairy farm. On Feb. 12, the USDA National Organic Program published a rule requiring that animals' diets consist of at least 30 percent dry matter intake from pastured grazed and that the grazing season is at least 120 days. The webinar will help you predict the dry matter demand of your animals and walk you through the step of determining the intake. Space is limited, register at http://www.extension.org/article/28554.
The National Air Quality Site Assessment Tool (NAQSAT) was developed for poultry and livestock producers to assist in determining the areas on their operations where changes can result in reduced air emissions. NAQSAT is an online tool, developed for voluntary and educational use. This is the first of two part series. From 2:30 - 3:45 p.m. ET, producers learn the tools for determining opportunities to reduce air emissions from livestock farms at http://www.extension.org/event/1740.
If these times don't work for you, the webinars will be archived and can view them at a later date at www.extension.org.
