  • The Zwingle, Iowa, cowboy - who will be competing in his first Wrangler National Finals Rodeo next month - had a dominating performance at the RAM Great Lakes Circuit Finals Rodeo (Nov. 13-15) at Freedom Hall. 
  • The Black Hills (S.D.) Roundup Committee will recognize the top area rodeo competitors who are headed to Las Vegas to compete in the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. The 2014 NFR Sendoff will be Nov. 22 at the Mulligan at Belle Fourche Country Club.

  • Trevor Brazile left no doubt who the PRCA's best steer roper was in 2014. 
  •             A special one-hour documentary called Buckin' the Odds - 30 Years of the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, telling the story of how the NFR moved from Oklahoma City and landed in Las Vegas in 1985, will air on CBS Sports Network on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET. 
  • This year, a 5-Year Old Futurity was added to the lineup of Yearling, Snaffle Bit 2-Year-Old, 3-Year-Old, 4-Year-Old and Midnight Corona Barrel Racing Futurities. 

  • Sitting 9th in the Steer Wrestling is Forest Sainsbury, Camp Crook, S.D. with $2,681

  • Former PRCA steer wrestler and tie-down roper Ted Cannon of Silver Creek, Neb., died Oct. 26 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln. He was 92. Cannon served in the South Pacific during World War II and was subsequently part of the occupying force in Japan before returning home to Nebraska to ranch, farm and compete in ProRodeo 
  • The grievance appeal filed by team ropers Tom Richards and Cesar de la Cruz has been ruled to be valid by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and they have been placed in the draw for the Dec. 4-13 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. 
  • COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Mark Schricker, a 14-time qualifier for the National Finals Rodeo and co-founder of the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys, died Oct. 20 in a Colorado Springs, Colo., hospice from the effects of Parkinson's disease. He was 76. 
  • Some rodeos are like a personal playground for cowboys.
